Learn to work with your feet.
SoleMassage teaches ashiatsu barefoot massage using a two-strap system, with an emphasis on body mechanics, control, and practical skills you can bring into your massage work.
Foundations is a three-day, hands-on introduction taught at THE SPACE in downtown Spokane.
- Small-group instruction and guided practice
- Body mechanics, pressure, and pacing
- Bar setup information and strap training
Still in school? Students may attend once they are at least three-quarters of the way through their massage program and in good standing with their school. Your instructor should be able to recommend you as a strong student who is keeping up with coursework and program requirements.

Still in massage school?
We sometimes hire students for paid studio support, including laundry, room preparation, and other duties around the studio. These roles give us a chance to work together while you're in school.
Availability depends on the studio's needs. If you're interested, email us with your expected graduation date and availability. Student support work does not include providing massage to paying clients.

Do I have to work at THE SPACE to take training?
No. SoleMassage also trains therapists who want to use barefoot massage in their own practices. Taking a class and applying for employment are separate options.
Does applying mean my training will be covered?
Training arrangements are discussed individually during hiring. The training-covered offer in our October recruitment ad applied to that October class. Speak with Mariah about current arrangements before enrolling.
